US fuel prices..........

  • Mar. 15th, 2008 at 8:56 PM
annoyer
As of today the nationwide average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the US hit a new high of $3.28 for regular and $4.10 for diesel, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

The average price in the UK is £1.30 a litre for regular and £1.35 a litre for diesel.

There are 4.4 litres in a UK gallon, this makes the cost £5.72 a gallon for regular and £5.94 a gallon for diesel.

Let's do some math. Figuring the worth of the GB Pound vs the US dollar, £1 = $2.01, that makes the price of petrol cost the equivalent of $11.50 for a gallon of regular and $11.94 for a gallon of diesel.

IF anyone in the US gets tired of paying $3.28 or $4.10 a gallon there, PLEASE send it to us. We’ll gladly pay those prices.

First of all:
it's been 2 yrs and 3 months since I stopped smoking. rah!
I've been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I'm now taking Levothyroxine, and have managed to lose 12 pounds since Christmas.
My mother, who's been living in a nursing home for the last 5 years has had her diagnosis of "mild dementia" changed to Alzheimer's disease. She's now 90, so with her past history of strokes maybe it was expected.
They've changed things around over here with the mental health services here in Cranleigh, and as a result I have a new Pdoc. I DON'T like it.

Can't think of anything else, so.............

Nope, didn't think anyone was interested.

I found out from my daughter this morning that my ex-husband died yesterday afternoon.
I'm not sure how I should or do feel about this. We were married for 28 years before our divorce, and I've remarried and moved on, but he was my kids father.
I haven't talked to my son yet, but my daughter is understandably upset. I think that other than a feeling of shock, what I feel is regret that I can't physically be there for them when my kids need me, even tho both of them are adults.

Silly little test

This was sent to me as a "chain email" - you know the kind, the "send this to X many people in an hour and..."

Well, I thought it was kind of cute, so I'm posting it as a meme , of sorts, instead.
(I don't believe in chain letters)

Have fun!

2. A paper I wrote for college, titled "Talleyrand and the Congress of Vienna", appears (at their request) on the official site of L'association "Les Amis de Talleyrand" under the heading "Politique". 3. I'm now an official resident of the UK.

4. My dream occupation would be graphic design.

You scored as Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones is an archaeologist/adventurer with an unquenchable love for danger and excitement. He travels the globe in search of historical relics. He loves travel, excitement, and a good archaeological discovery. He hates Nazis and snakes, perhaps to the same degree. He always brings along his trusty whip and fedora. He's tough, cool, and dedicated. He relies on both brains and brawn to get him out of trouble and into it.

Donald Rumsfeld briefed the President this morning. He told Bush that 3 Brazilian solders were killed in Iraq. To everyone's amazement, all the color drained from Bush's face, then he collapsed onto his desk, head in hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears. Finally, he composed himself and asked Rumsfeld, "Just exactly how many is a Brazilian?"

You're the Flying Scotsman!

Old and esteemed, you tend to get steamed up quite frequently.
This happens to be what most people want to see in you, however, so they
don't mind the torrents of steam that you blow off. Despite your
advanced age, you still manage to attract a lot of admirers, though you're
not quite as fast as you once were. Though people strangely associate you
with airplanes, you actually refuse to fly.

You're the United Nations!

Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to
completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long
way to go.  You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each
other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of
beating each other about the head and torso.  Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result.  But your heart
is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.
